how to protest: a field guide

publication/zine/print

In the summer of 2020, people in the United States and across the world took to the streets to voice their anger and show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Though largely peaceful, protesters were often met with excessive force from the police. For many people, it was their first time protesting and they needed to reference things like Instagram for helpful protesting tips. This was risky because police were able to track protesters locations via their phones and arrest them later. To solve this problem, I created a field guide that protesters could carry and quickly reference without having to turn on their phone and have their location tracked.
